Project Carmona
A Chic Contemporary Mediterranean Oasis
Step into the world of Project Carmona, where the charm of a 1930s Spanish home meets contemporary chic in the coveted Wilshire Vista neighborhood. This project was a true labor of love, a journey that saw this Mediterranean beauty taken down to the studs and reimagined both inside and out. Carmona was not just a renovation; it was a complete reimagining of every square inch of space. The rooms, once chopped up, begged for a fresh perspective. Yet, the enduring beauty of the 1930s Spanish home style provided a timeless foundation to build upon. While the project introduced contemporary elements, it also paid homage to the timeless beauty of Mediterranean design. It's a living reminder that great design can preserve history while gracefully embracing modern living. While playing off the beautiful arches throughout the home I made sure to maintain that shape in other areas such as some of the larger windows. The modern gatework, sleek new black vinyl windows, and the juxtaposition with the 1930s house created a stunning visual contrast that enhanced the overall beauty of Project Carmona. These design choices added a contemporary touch while respecting the classic charm of the original structure.
